Location: [Home] Evelyn Eddy
The first thing to do is to get the pronunciation correct: It's EEV-linn, not EHV-eh-linn. It's a family name, and I'm very proud of being a part of the Eddy family and its tradition of service. I fit right in: in a family whose members are diplomats, ministers, or professors, my vocation seems wholly appropriate.
I love folk music, having begun jigging to Irish music as a child. Exploring it since then has been a source of real joy. Although I don't play an instrument, I do sing, and my husband, at least, enjoys it.
Unlike my husband, I do not like playing with computers, though I use them. I do enjoy contra dancing, singing, reading mysteries, and just being with people. My heart is in the Adirondack Mountains, and in the streets of Ithaca, New York, where I was raised; in my friends, in my family, and in my congregation--and in my faith.
